Sanga Stadium by KYOCERA (Kyoto Stadium) is a sports venue equipped for soccer, rugby, and football, located on the east side of JR Kameoka Station, and boasts a capacity of 21,600. In addition to being utilized as the home stadium of Kyoto Sanga FC and being a sports venue for international soccer and rugby matches, this stadium also hosts musical events and regional development events. Kyotoites are looking forward to the role it will play as one of the largest event venues in the prefecture.

View of the stadium

The field is 126 meters long north to south, and 84 meters wide east to west. It is notable for its roof which reaches 2 meters in front of the first row of spectator seats, and for having only a 1.2-meter difference in height between the pitch and the stands. The stadium features elongated screens on the 1st floor wall in the back stands area and in front of the side stands area running north to south. On the 2nd floor open concourse there are rows of displays, so visitors can continue viewing even when not in the stands.

The pitch and stands

Below the stands there is a food court as well as Japan’s first indoor climbing gym to meet international standards, and a 3 on 3 basketball court, which are utilized for regional development events.
Until January 11, 2021, the stadium also features the Kirin ga Kuru Taiga Drama-kan and souvenir shop, which let visitors experience of the world of Kirin ga Kuru (Awaiting Kirin), an annual, year-long Japanese historical television drama.
