Kutsuwa-ike Nature Park Campground
The 40-hectare grounds surrounding the pond feature six campgrounds, bungalows, barbecue areas, a pizza oven, and walking trails, making it a popular suburban oasis where visitors can enjoy outdoor activities while immersing themselves in nature.
The newly installed heart-shaped observation deck at the end of the walking trail is a must-see spot offering a panoramic view of Ujitawara Town.
“Kutsuwa Pond,” located near Mount Sango, was historically known as “Kata-no-ike” and was used as an irrigation reservoir. What began as a single pond eventually split into two, and because their shape resembled a “kutsuwa” (horse bit), it came to be called “Kutsuwa Pond.”
