Manaihara Tour Guide
Kitahama in Amanohashidate, an ancient sacred site once frequented by the gods, was long ago known as “Manaihara,” and even today, the traditions of prayer here remain unchanged from over 2,000 years ago.
Manaihara is the birthplace of Toyouke-no-Ōkami, enshrined at the Gekū (Outer Shrine) of Ise.
Amaterasu Ōmikami, enshrined at the Gekū (Outer Shrine) of Ise, also made a pilgrimage to this land, and our shrine is deeply revered by many as “Moto-Ise”—the original shrine from which both the Ine Gekū and Naikū (Inner Shrine) of Ise originated.
A guide certified in shrine studies will provide a detailed tour of Manaihara (Moto-Ise Kago Shrine and Manai Shrine).
