Area & City/Town Introduction (Yawata City)

Yawata City

Located halfway between Kyoto and Osaka, this town is a place where abundant nature harmonizes with history and culture. It is blessed with numerous historical sites and scenic spots, including Ishimizu Hachiman Shrine—one of Japan’s Three Great Hachiman Shrines—as well as the Shokado Garden and Art Museum and the Nagarebashi Bridge (Kamitsuya Bridge). Furthermore, as the confluence of the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu Rivers, the city has flourished since ancient times as a key transportation hub, and its excellent accessibility remains a major attraction even today.
We invite you to visit Yawata City, where you can experience the beauty of the changing seasons and immerse yourself in its rich history.
