Area & City/Town Introduction (Ide Town)
Ide Town is a small town located between the two ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara. Although it is in the suburbs—just 15 minutes from Nara Station and 30 minutes from Kyoto Station on the JR Nara Line—a clear, pristine stream flows through the town center, and The embankments on both banks are lined with cherry blossoms, goldenbell flowers, and other seasonal blooms that add color throughout the year. On early summer nights, Genji fireflies dance in the air, preserving a strong sense of the tranquil scenery found in the lush rural hills that surround the town. It is a beautiful town that has long been famous as a subject of poetry, dating back to the Nara period.
