Located five ri from Kyoto and five ri from Nara, Joyo City has long been known as “the Village of Five Ri.” In addition to numerous ancient burial mounds, archaeological sites, and historic shrines and temples that bear witness to its long history, the city is blessed with abundant natural beauty, including the Aoya Plum Grove, the Kamotani Waterfall, Mount Konosu.
