Spiritual Trekking Among the Ancient Megaliths of Mt. Kasagi

Located on the border of Kyoto and Nara, Kasagiyama Kasagi-ji Temple is a mysterious and spiritual place that preserves the traditions of giant rock worship and Shugendo dating back more than 1,300 years.
Its greatest attraction is the magnificent 15-meter-high cliff-carved Buddha, which creates a breathtaking landscape where nature and prayer come together in harmony.
Visitors can also enjoy unique ascetic experiences such as passing through narrow gaps between giant rocks, as well as beautiful autumn foliage and, if fortunate, a spectacular sea of clouds in the early morning.
Known as a hidden spiritual sanctuary, Kasagi-ji Temple offers a rare opportunity to experience the deep nature, history, and culture of Japan.
