Area & City/Town Introduction (Kasagi Town)

Kasagi Town

Kasagi Town is an outdoor destination where history and nature harmonize, located on the prefectural border with Nara City in southern Kyoto Prefecture. While visitors can experience Japan’s history and culture through attractions such as Kasagi-ji Temple—which boasts a history of over 1,300 years—and massive rock-carved Buddha statues, the Kizu River offers a variety of outdoor activities, including camping, canoeing, hiking, and bouldering. It is a special place where you can fully enjoy Japan’s unique history and natural beauty alongside the stunning scenery of each season.
