Sushi-Making Class and Table Tea Ceremony
A popular combo experience where you can enjoy sushi-making and a table tea ceremony all at once. Spend half a day learning how to make sushi under the guidance of a master chef and experiencing the art of preparing matcha. English-speaking staff available; transportation provided.
This popular set experience, held at “Tora Café”—a renovated 100-year-old Kyoto machiya—allows you to enjoy two aspects of Japanese culture at once: sushi-making and table-style tea ceremony. Learn how to make authentic sushi from a chef who trained at a high-end sushi restaurant in Tokyo, and then experience a tea ceremony where you can prepare matcha at a table without having to sit seiza-style. You’ll get to savor the sushi you made yourself, along with the matcha you prepared and traditional Japanese sweets. This half-day plan, which allows you to fully immerse yourself in Japanese food culture and the tea ceremony, is especially popular among international visitors. English-speaking staff are available, and transportation from Ayabe Station is provided.
