Experience authentic sushi-making from a craftsman trained in Tokyo at a traditional Japanese house—a renovated Kyoto townhouse. You can enjoy the sushi you make right there on the spot. English-speaking staff available; transportation provided.
At Tora Café—a renovated 100-year-old historic Kyoto townhouse—you can learn how to make authentic sushi from a chef who trained at a high-end sushi restaurant in Tokyo. You’ll receive careful instruction on everything from shaping the rice to plating, and you’ll get to enjoy the sushi you’ve made right there on the spot. You can choose from two grades of toppings: standard and premium. Set in the tranquil countryside, we offer an authentic Japanese cultural experience unlike anything you’d find on a typical sightseeing tour. We provide English-language support and transportation from Ayabe Station.
