Table Tea Ceremony
A casual tea ceremony experience where you can enjoy making your own matcha at a table—no need to sit in the traditional seiza position. Includes traditional Japanese sweets. English-speaking staff are available to assist first-time visitors and international guests. Transportation available.
This is a casual tea ceremony experience held at a table—no formal seiza posture required. The concept is to “incorporate” the experience of preparing your own matcha into your daily life, free from the constraints of kimono or rigid etiquette. You’ll enjoy a cup of matcha you’ve prepared yourself, accompanied by traditional Japanese sweets. Held in the serene atmosphere of a 100-year-old renovated Kyoto machiya, we provide clear and courteous guidance in English—perfect for first-timers and international guests alike. We also offer a shuttle service from Ayabe Station.
