Vegan Sushi-Making Class and Table Tea Ceremony
A half-day package that lets you enjoy making vegetarian sushi and a table tea ceremony. Vegan options available; includes traditional Japanese sweets. English-speaking staff available; transportation provided.
This package experience lets you enjoy both vegetarian sushi-making—using vegetable-based toppings instead of fish—and a table-style tea ceremony that doesn’t require sitting on your knees. Vegetarians, vegans, and international guests who avoid raw fish for religious reasons can all participate with confidence. A sushi chef trained at a high-end sushi restaurant in Tokyo will carefully guide you through the art of making sushi, after which you’ll have the opportunity to prepare your own matcha tea and savor it alongside traditional Japanese sweets. In the serene atmosphere of a 100-year-old renovated Kyoto townhouse, you can fully immerse yourself in Japanese food culture and the tea ceremony over the course of half a day. English-speaking staff are available, and transportation from Ayabe Station is provided.
